About GLS Law College

GLS Law College, a constituent department of Faculty of Law, GLS University, was established in 2015. It aims to add newer magnitudes in legal education that would integrate international standards and provide an environment for innovations, creativity and legal acumen. In a short period, GLS Law College has emerged as the most preferred destination for legal education. GLS Law College offers B.A.LL.B and B.B.A LL.B (Hons) degrees which are recognized and approved by the Bar Council of India. The college has an advantage of senior and well experienced faculty members in the field of Law. The senior practicing advocates also contribute in teaching and providing experiential learning. The teaching pedagogy includes: classroom discussions, case studies, interactive presentations, guest lectures, expert sessions, seminars, conferences, and case law methods coupled with intensive practical training through moot courts.

This undergraduate programme has special emphasis on law practice and demand driven legal education with pleading and drafting skills and pro-bono approach. The programme is designed to provide participants enough drafting and pleading skills in all areas of law, intermixed with non-law areas. Throughout five-years, students undergo rigorous training of moot court practices. In the final year, students learn the skills of legal drafting and dissertation writing. The theoretical knowledge gained in the classrooms are supplemented by the clinical papers.

The five-year programme has been designed to achieve specialised outcomes, skills and values. The five year programme will ensure that the passed out students are ready for higher education, litigation or corporate positions.

Programme Objectives:
  • a. To enhance the knowledge and understanding of law and non-law subjects
  • b. To understand application of the precedents, statutory laws and case laws in law adjudication
  • c. To develop strong advocacy and drafting skills, required in the legal profession
  • d. To ensure that students learn to think critically and analyze the complex situations
  • e. To provide legal aid to the poor, needy and destitute

Knowledge Resource

The college has an advantage of having senior and well experienced faculty members in the field of Arts and Law. The senior practicing advocates will also contribute in procedural and other laws at the college. The faculty will impart legal education using various teaching methodologies like group discussion method, problem posing method, case law method coupled with intensive practical training through organizing moot court competitions.

About Gujarat Law Society

Gujarat Law Society has been in the field of education for more than eight decades and is considered to be one of the largest and most renowned destinations for education in Gujarat. The Society stands as a synonym for contemporary education in the region with its state-of-the-art infrastructure. Visionaries and luminaries like Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Ganesh Mavlankar and Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai were the first to set lofty standards of excellence in education at the society.

Beginning from a single law college in 1927, which was nurtured, among others, by Shri I. M. Nanavati, today Gujarat Law Society has burgeoned into a mammoth trust that manages 34 institutions offering courses in multiple disciplines imparting quality education.

From a single Law College to becoming GLS University, today it provides wide range of programmes in the fields of Management, Computer Technology, Law, Education, Design, Research, Media, Information Technology, and Communication There are over 24,000 students at the campus who are assisted in meticulously crafting their careers and leading them to the path of success.

Gujarat Law Society has a particularly extensive alumni group which echoes the values that it imparts, right since its inception. Being a part of some of the most distinguished Judges, Lawyers and Corporate Giants across the globe, these members of the Society’s alumni have carved out a niche identity for themselves, that of being responsible, pragmatic and proactive.

College Infrastructure & Facilities

The College has a huge and spacious building spread over in more than 8 acres of land. The college building is modern and well equipped with amenities for the comfort and convenience of both teachers and students.
Every class room is air-conditioned, equipped with LCD Projectors and is adequately ventilated. The rooms are furnished with comfortable seating arrangements and Dais.
For imparting legal training to students for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The College has a rich library having various reference books of law, law journals and legal Software.
The campus comprises of 10,000 sq. yards sports ground wherein facilities for various sports like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, etc...
The campus hosts a centralized air conditioned, multipurpose auditorium with a seating capacity of 275 with a modular stage and a green room...

Course Offered

Duration:Five Years Comprising of Ten Semesters
Eligibility:H.S.C. (10+2 or its equivalent) in any stream with minimum 45% in General Category; minimum 43% in OBC Category, and minimum 40% in case of SC/ST category.
